ROMA REPORT

HIGH LEVEL POLITICAL REPORT TO UN

The World Roma Federation (WRF) is gathering information on the current situation of Roma communities worldwide. We aim to compile a comprehensive report to submit to the United Nations, highlighting both the challenges we face and the progress being made towards our rights and inclusion.

We ask members of the Roma community to share insights from their experiences and observations. Please include information on the following topics, as applicable to your country of residence:

Discrimination: Are Roma facing systemic discrimination in areas such as education, employment, housing, or access to services? Can you provide specific examples or data?

Human Rights Violations: Have there been instances of police violence, forced evictions, or other human rights abuses targeting Roma communities?

Inclusivity and Representation: Are Roma included in decision-making processes at the local and national levels? Are there policies in place to promote Roma participation?

Socioeconomic Conditions: How are Roma communities faring in terms of poverty, unemployment, and access to basic services like healthcare and education?

Public Perception and Stereotypes: How are Roma portrayed in the media and popular culture? Are stereotypes prevalent, and if so, what impact do they have?

Please be as specific and factual as possible in your responses. If you have access to relevant statistics or reports, please include them. While we understand that the situation varies widely from country to country, your personal insights are invaluable in painting a full picture of the global Roma experience.

Please send your information to us by 6th of May by commenting below or emailing us through the contact form. We will compile the responses into a comprehensive report to be submitted to the United Nations.

This is a chance for your voice to be heard on the international stage. Together, we can shine a light on the challenges we face and demand the action needed to ensure our rights and inclusion. Thank you for your participation.
